About Risk Management

Each one of us (quite often without a second thought) undertakes a range of Risk management activities everyday. Just one example is the spare tyre in your car. When you here that thump, thump you know you have a puncture. What do you do? You take out the spare tyre and change the wheel; this is an example of practical risk management! There was an identified risk (punctured tyre) and a risk management control (spare tyre). The important concept here is that the risk is identified before it occurs and the control measure spare tyre is already in place in case the risk (puncture) happens. It will still cause a minor inconvenience but is easily rectified.

Risk Management is the process of identifying risks and implementing risk management controls in the workplace. Risk Management is the marriage of the Security and Investigation Industries under the all-encompassing umbrella of OH&S, Security and Investigation.
